POY是预取向丝，指经高速纺丝获得的取向度在未取向丝和拉伸丝之间的未完全拉伸的化纤长丝。具有耐热性、耐光性、耐腐蚀性强，易洗快干等特点。常常用做拉伸加捻变形丝（DTY）的专用丝。
POY is a preoriented yarn,which refers to a chemical fiber filament whose orientation degree is between the unoriented filament and the drawn filament obtained by high-speed spinning.It has the characteristics of heat resistance,light resistance,corrosion resistance,easy washing and quick drying.It is often used as a special yarn for drawing twisted textured yarn(DTY)
